This is a story about the Dry Stone Conservancy, a nonprofit organization based in Lexington, Kentucky that is dedicated to preserving historic drystone structures and promoting the ancient craft of dry-laid stone masonry.Īlthough the Conservancy was born in 1995, we’ll begin our story a little earlier to understand the framework and foundation of its inauguration.
